Implementation of Opioid Use Disorder Interventions in Community-Based Pharmacies
Review Question
To review, synthesize, and present available evidence for the implementation of opioid use disorder services in community-based pharmacies.
Study Type Included
Included studies must be published within one of the peer reviewed databases: PubMed, Embase, and Scopus.
Condition Being Studied
This review will focus on the opioid crisis, which was declared a national public health emergency in the United States in 2017. The implementations of opioid use disorder interventions in community-based pharmacies have become more prevalent. A blueprint, or standardized approach of implementing OUD services in a community-based setting is still unknown.
Participant
Inclusion Criteria: pharmacies in community-based settings: traditional community-based pharmacy setting (pharmacy, supermarket, or general merchandise; other community-based pharmacies include health-systems, Federally-Qualified Health Centers, clinics and specialty; community-based settings beyond the traditional "four walls of a pharmacy including physician offices, patient homes, churches, and work places. We will include papers that are written in the English language. Exclusion criteria will be papers that are not written in the English language.

Main Outcome
This review will detail a standardized approach to implementation of OUD services within community-based pharmacies. These outcomes will be measured using the Consolidated Framework of Implementation Science (CFIR).
