Title
Lipid-lowering effect of Xuezhikang capsule for patients with coronary heart disease combined with hyperlipidemia: protocol for a systematic review
Review Question
The curative effect of XZK in patients with CHD combined with hyperlipidemia
Study Type Included
Randomized controlled trials (RCTs)
Condition Being Studied
Dyslipidemia is a risk for cardiovascular disease. Statins can cut down the level of TC and LDL-C but also bring adverse reactions such as giving rise to transaminase elevation, rhabdomyolysis, and so on. Xuezhikang (XZK) capsule has been widely used for dyslipidemia as a treatment in China. Many clinical trials have been reported that it could lower the blood lipid level.
Participant
Patients with both Coronary heart disease (CHD) and hyperlipidemia will be included. Patients with CHD and hyperlipidemia will be included regardless of their age, sex, ethnicity/race, education or economic status. Familial hypercholesterolemia, Secondary hyperlipidemia, Postprandial hyperlipidemia and serious liver and kidney diseases will be excluded.
Animal
Human Disease Modelled
Intervention
For the treatment group, XZK interventions will be adopted, which combine with conventional therapy. Trials include any other Chinese medicine interventions (e.g. decoction of Chinese medicine, acupuncture and etc.) will be excluded.
Comparator Control
XZK Interventions will not be adopted of the control group, treating in conventional therapy (basic glucose-lowering drugs) plus placebos or statins or no other drugs.
Main Outcome
Total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride(TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C), and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C)
Outcome Measure
Additional Outcome
Adverse event.
Study Method
Systematic review
