Efficacy and Safety of Qinge Pill for Primary Osteoporosis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Review Question
To explore the evidence of efficacy and safety of Qinge Pill for primary osteoporosis.
Study Type Included
Randomized controlled trials (RCTs) will be included in this systematic review regardless of publication status and language.
Condition Being Studied
Primary Osteoporosis (POP) is a worldwide skeletal disorder characterized by loss of bone mass, microarchitectural deterioration, and decline in bone quality, which causes increased skeletal fragility and high risk of fractures.
Participant
We included trials that enrolled adults with a diagnosis of primary osteoporosis of any duration. The diagnosis of osteoporosis could have been based upon bone mineral densitometry or explicit clinical diagnostic criteria as defined by the studies.
Animal

Intervention
The experimental groups were treated with Qinge Pill singly or combined with control groups. And there were no restrictions on the drug dosage, frequency, or treatment time.
Comparator Control
Control groups could be placebo, western medicine, no intervention or other therapies without Qinge Pill.
Main Outcome
Clinical effective rate, bone mineral density (BMD) of hip (including femoral neck, greater trochanter, Ward's triangle) and waist, and adverse effects (overall adverse event, jaw necrosis, gastrointestinal symptoms, and general symptoms).
Outcome Measure
Additional Outcome
Pain score, Estradiol, bone specific alkaline phosphatase (BALP), bone glaprotein (BGP), 25(OH)D3, β-type I collagen carboxy-terminal peptide (β-CTX), type I procollagen amino-terminal peptide (PINP).
