- Diabetes is an endocrine disease characterized by chronic hyperglycemia, insulin resistance or insufficient insulin secretion, accompanied by disturbance of glucose and lipid metabolism, which is caused by multiple factors such as genetics, environment, and immunity. It is also accompanied with metabolic disorders of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. It can cause various complications such as the nervous system，cardiovascular system and digestive system, leading to functional impairment of various tissues and organs, and affecting the quality of life of patients. With the improvement of living standards and the change of diet structure, the prevalence of diabetes in the world is increasing year by year. Therefore, it is vital to explore the prevention and treatment of diabetes.
- Participant
- Patients meeting the diagnostic criteria for type 2 diabetes mellitus, over 18 years of age. There are no race, gender or nation restrictions.

- Human Disease Modelled
- Intervention
- Intervention included Dendrobium mixture, with no limit to dosage form, frequency and dosage. The experimental group is Dendrobium mixture alone or Dendrobium mixture combined with conventional treatment.
- Comparator Control
- The control group is blank, placebo or conventional treatment, if the experimental group is combined with conventional treatment, it should be the same as the control group.
- Main Outcome
- Glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c).

- Glucose metabolism index: Fasting blood glucose (FBG), Two-hour Postprandial glucose (2hPG) Lipid metabolism index:Total Cholesterol (TC), Triglyceride (TG), High Density Liptein Cholesterol (HDL-C), Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol (LDL-C) Beta cell function index: Homeostasis model assessment of beta cell function(HOMA-β) Insulin resistance index: Homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance(HOMA-IR) Body mass index (BMI) Safety Outcomes: Any adverse events that occurred during the study
