Condition Being Studied
Diabetes, group of metabolic disorders caused by defects in insulin production or function result in high blood sugar levels. As yet, there is no cure, people with diabetes need to manage their disease to stay healthy. Use of conventional hypoglycemic agent is a costly treatment and cause some of side effect too. On the other hand, cinnamon is an herbal product, with less price and minimal side effect. Some of in vitro study suggests Cinnamon as anti-diabetic agent which can lower blood sugar by imitating biological activity of insulin and increases movement of blood glucose into cells. Cinnamon has been studied in RCTs and comparative studies for its glucose lowering effects.
