Title
The association between mutation in Ubiquitin-specific protease 26 and male infertility:a meta-analysis
Review Question
Whether the mutation in Ubiquitin-specific protease 26 is associtated with male infertility, the currently available results are inconsistent and controversial. The purpose of this investigation is to explore the relationship between Ubiquitin-specific protease 26 and male infertility.
Study Type Included
Case–control studies testing the association of USP26 polymorphisms with male infertility were included.
Condition Being Studied
Until now, the group of men whose fertility problems cannot be explained remains large. Genetic factors may explain part of the fertility problems. The ubiquitin-specific protease 26 (USP26) gene is an X-linked gene specifically expressed in testis tissue. This gene is therefore a potential infertility gene.
Participant
We aimed to investigate the population classified as azoospermia and oligozoospermia
Animal
Human Disease Modelled
Intervention
The exposure was the haplotypes of ubiquitin-specific protease 26 in participants
Comparator Control
The control was the people proven to be normozoospermia
Main Outcome
The incidence rate of infertility in participants and control Measures of effect Odds ratios
Outcome Measure
Additional Outcome
None Measures of effect Odds ratios
Study Method
Meta-analysis, Systematic review
