- Inclusion criteria: Experimental and / or quasi-experimental studies that evaluated the effects of previous inhalation of peppermint essential oil (Mentha piperita) in adults during physical exercise in different modalities and their outcome in oxygen consumption. Exclusion criteria: (a) reviews, case reports, case series, pilot studies, book chapters, conference abstracts; (b) studies that investigated the effects of peppermint oil (Mentha piperita) associated with other essential oils and / or other therapies; (c) studies that administered peppermint oil (Mentha piperita) orally (ingestion).
