本品呈不规则的长段。根呈圆柱形，表面棕褐色。质松脆。切面皮部深棕色，常呈裂片状，木部黄白色。气特异，味苦而辛。

除去杂质和泥沙，洗净，切长段，干燥。

置阴凉干燥处，防潮，防蛀。

理气止痛，开郁醒脾；外用祛湿消肿。用于脘腹胀满，食欲不振，呕吐；外用治牙痛，脚气肿毒。

用法与用量
3～6g。外用适量，泡汤漱口或煎汤洗脚或研末敷患处。
