Title
The Effects of Acupoint Stimulation on T Lymphocyte Subgroups and NK Cell in Peripheral Blood of Patients with Malignant Tumor
Review Question
Patients: patients diagnosed with malignant tumor Intervention: acupoint stimulation eg.acupuncture, moxibustion, warming needle Control: routine treatment, sham acupuncture, sham acupoint stimulation Outcome: T cell subgroup(CD3+, CD4+, CD8+, etc), NK cell Study design: RCTs
Study Type Included
Inclusion: (1)Adults diagnosed with malignant tumor. (2)Acupoint stimulation (eg. acupuncture, moxibustion, acupoint injection, TEAS) was the primary intervention in the experiment group; (3) Sham and/or blank control procedure was performed; (4) Primary outcomes included T cell subgroup percentage and NK cell percentage in peripheral blood; (5) Studies that had a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design; Exclusion: 1) RCTs which compare one acupoint stimulation method with another traditional medical method 2) the evaluation criteria do not include standardized outcome indicators;
Condition Being Studied

Intervention
Acupuncture is considered a complementary or alternative medicine in many Asian countries as well as in the west. Moxibustion is a traditional Chinese medicine treatment that involves burning dried mugwort at specific parts of the body.Suppliers usually age the mugwort and grind it into fluff.Practitioners burn the fuzz or further process it into cigar-shaped sticks. They can use it indirectly, with acupuncture needles, or burn it on the patient's skin. Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine and an important part of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) used to insert fine needles into the body.It is most often used to relieve pain, but can also be used for a variety of other symptoms.
Comparator Control
Routine Treatment: treatment according to symptoms; Sham Transcutaneous Electrical Acupoint Stimulation: electrode tabs are placed on the acupoints, but electrical stimulation is not initiated.
Main Outcome
Peripheral blood NKcell, Tcell subgroup:CD4 +,CD8 +,CD3 + cell; CD4 + / CD8 + by flow cytometry. Measures of effect Timing:before and after the course of treatment. Measures: the change of percentage of T cell subgroups and NK cell in peripheral blood.
