Title
Evaluation of the osteogenic potencial of bioceramic sealers – a systematic review.
Review Question
Do filling sealers based on calcium silicate (I) induce greater osteogenesis (O) than conventional filling sealers (C) in experimental studies (P)?
Study Type Included
Inclusion criteria: laboratory experimental studies, in vitro Exclusion criteria: clinical cases; case reports, reviews
Condition Being Studied
Nowadays, tooth loss is a problem that is felt in our population. The area of endodontics aims to maintaining the dental elements that are compromised in the pulp and periapical tissues, preventing the proliferation of microorganisms and, consequently, the loss of the tooth. The materials used in endodontic treatment are constantly evolving, especially due to the introduction of new sealers in the market. Different brands claim to be biocompatible materials enhancing the natural regeneration of dental and periapical tissues. In this sense, it is necessary to clarify in the literature the osteogenic potential of the bioceramic sealers used in root canal filling.
