- Condition Being Studied
- Cataracts are clouding of the naturally transparent lens of the eye due to genetic diseases, maternal infections, metabolic disorders, etc. Globally, childhood cataracts are the second leading cause of blindness. In Asia; for instance, the incidence of pediatric blindness has reached more than 1 million cases, most of which are attributed to childhood cataracts.
