- Review Question
- The objective of this study is to systematically review the literature and to conduct a meta-analysis comparing the effects of nutritional support to placebo or nutritional counseling only in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease on hemodialysis.
- Study Type Included
- We will include all the relevant Randomized Controlled Trials (RCTs) and Cohort Studies in order to assess the efficacy of nutritional support in CKD patients on hemodialysis.

- Chronic Kidney Disease on hemodialysis
- Participant
- Adults patients (over 18 years of age) with Chronic Kidney Disease on hemodialysis.
- Animal
- Human Disease Modelled
- Intervention
- The study will include any approach of nutritional support (e.g Enteral Nutrition, Parenteral Nutrition or other forms of nutritional support).
- Comparator Control
- Placebo, nutritional counseling.
- Main Outcome
- The main outcomes will be: 1. Improvement of Serum Albumin. 2. Inflammation (e.g CRP levels, TNF-a) Measures of effect Risk Ratio, Mean Difference, Standardized Mean Difference.

- 3) Weight (kg) 4) BMI (kg/m2) 5) Quality of life (QoL) measured by rating scales such as The Quality of Life Scale (QOLS).The improvement of patients’ wellbeing or change in quality of life are significant goals for psychiatric care. 6)Serum levels of potassium (K) 7) Serum levels of Sodium (Na) 8)Serum levels of phosphorus (P) 9) Malnutrition (e.g GLIM criteria) 10) Total dropouts 11) Dropouts due to side effects 12) Total number of patients with adverse effects 13) Specific adverse effects Measures of effect Risk Ratio, Mean Difference, Standardized Mean Difference
