Study Type Included
22.The studies included randomized controlled trials and quasiexperimental studies.The literature comparing outcomes between menthol-containing intervention and non-menthol-containing intervention for hospitalized patients. Study patients had symptoms of thirst.The primary outcomes included thirst intensity scores, thirst discomfort and saliva flow rate as secondary outcomes. The exclusion criteria were as following:(1) non-human studies;(2)non-comparative studies;(3)studies without available data can be extracted;(4)non-original studies(letters, reviwes, editorials).

Hospitalized patients with symptoms of thirst received either a menthol-containing oral stimuli intervention or a non-menthol-containing oral stimuli intervention.
