Condition Being Studied
Age-related Macular Degeneration (AMD) is the leading cause of visual loss in industrialised countries. Present treatments are limited and costly. So AMD's prevention strategy will become more important.
Participant
Inclusion: healthy adults Exclusion: an unhealthy adult (a sick adult, especially AMD)

Human Disease Modelled
Intervention
We will include all randomised controlled trials (RCTs) that compared a complex of lutein and zeaxanthin to placebo. Studies will be excluded if they did not use a placebo, used lutein and zeaxanthin in combination with other treatment, enrolled participants with disease.
