Title
Management of Antithrombotic Prevention in Intracranial Neurosurgery: A Systematic Review with Meta-Analysis
Review Question
P: Population undergoing craniotomy I: Anticoagulation prophylaxis C:What treatment is used for anticoagulant prophylaxis O: Reduction in thromboembolic events and risk of bleeding complications
Study Type Included
RCT and prospective studies
Condition Being Studied
anticoagulation prevention, what treatment decrease thromboembolic event and what treatment give less bleeding complication
Participant
Patient undergoing neurosurgery intracranial
Animal
Human Disease Modelled
Intervention
patient who have treament by : Heparin, Low-Molecular-Weight or unfractioned heparin or rivaroxaban
Comparator Control
Placebo or no treatment
Main Outcome
The primary objective of this study is to make a systematic review, and if possible a meta-analysis in order to be able to evaluate and test the performance and the complications of the various preventive thromboprophylactic treatments for patients undergoing intracranial surgeries, trying to see if there is a treatment that will more effectively reduce thromboembolic events. Measures of effect relative risks and odds ratios
Outcome Measure
Additional Outcome
The secondary objective is to know if there is an anticoagulant treatment which would give more hemorrhagic complications. Measures of effect relative risks and odds ratios
Study Method
Systematic review
