- Review Question
- This review aims to study the association of psychiatric disorder and peripheral micronutrient level status.
- Study Type Included
- Observational studies including case-control studies, cross-sectional studies, and cohort studies comparing psychiatric disorder group and control group. As this review is an umbrella review, systematic review of observational studies are eligible for the review.
- Condition Being Studied
- Major psychiatric disorders will be studied, including: depressive disorder, an affective disorder manifested by either a dysphoric mood or loss of interest or pleasure in usual activities. Schizophrenia, a disorder of psychotic depth characterized by delusion formation, hallucinations, emotional disharmony, and regressive behavior. autism spectrum disorder, a childhood disorder characterized by markedly abnormal or impaired development in social interaction and communication and a markedly restricted repertoire of activity and interest ADHD, a childhood disorder showing signs of developmentally inappropriate inattention, impulsivity, and hyperactivity bipolar disorder, an affective disorder marked by severe mood swings
- Participant
- Participants with at least one type of psychiatric disorder and corresponding control group participants without psychiatric disorders are studied. There is no age or sex restriction.

- Micronutrients are vitamins and minerals needed by the body in very small amounts. They play critical role in human health, and it is well known that micronutrient deficiency leads to many negative health outcomes including mortality. Micronutrients that are included in this umbrella review are as follows: calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc, selenium, and vitamins A1, B6, B9, B12, C, D, and E
- Comparator Control
- Participants with no psychiatric disorder
- Main Outcome
- Onset of psychiatric disorder are the outcomes. The psychiatric disorders are described in item 18 of the protocol. Measures of effect Standardized mean difference and weighted mean difference
