Review Question
To evaluate the quality of evidence and effectiveness of all available studies on nutrition interventions for the effect of adverse perinatal outcomes.
Study Type Included
All published systematic reviews and meta-analyses.
Condition Being Studied
To evaluate the quality of evidence and effectiveness of all available studies on nutrition interventions for the effect of adverse perinatal outcomes.
Participant
Pregnant women.
Animal
Human Disease Modelled
Intervention
Different nutrition interventions for the effect of adverse perinatal pregnant outcomes. Nutritional interventions including supplementation of vitamin, retinol, folic acid, calcium, iodine, magnesium, Fe, zinc, beta carotene, micronutrients, multiple micronutrient, omega-3, energy, protein, utrition therapy, and dietary supplements.
Comparator Control
The control was different nutrition interventions or placebo/no treatment.
Main Outcome
We will consider any adverse perinatal outcomes including adverse pregnancy outcomes (adverse pregnant outcome, obstetric complication, pregnant disorder,) maternal outcomes (spontaneous miscarriage, pregnancy loss, hemorrhage, infection, hyperemesis gravidarum,Perinatal depression, anemia in pregnancy, obesity in preconceptual and pregnant women, gestational diabetes mellitus, gestational hypertension, eclampsia and preeclampsia, placental abruption), and fetal/neonatal outcomes (mortality, death, stillbirth, malformationanomaly, spina bifida, neural tube defects, congenital heart disease, macrosomia, premature delivery, low birth weight, small for gestational age, neonatal diseases) Measures of effect Estimated summary effect (risk ratio, odds ratio, weighted mean difference, and standardised mean difference with 95% confidence intervals). Furthermore, we will extract the model of effect (random and fixed), heterogeneity (I² statistic and Cochran’s Q test P value), and publication bias assessment (P value of Egger’s test or funnel plot).
