Title
Efficacy and safety of adenosine, rapid ventricular pacing and hypothermia in cerebralaneurysms clipping: A systematic review and meta-analysis
Review Question
Are adenosine, rapid ventricular pacing and hypothermia techniques effective and safe in cerebral aneurysms clipping?
Study Type Included
Randomized and non-randomized trials, case series with 5 or more patients
Condition Being Studied
According to the American Association of Neurosurgical Surgeons, Cerebral Aneurysms are described as abnormal focal dilations of an artery in the brain caused by a weakening of the inner muscular layer (the intima) of a blood vessel wall.
Participant
Patients undergoing adenosine-induced cardiac arrest during aneurysm surgery, patients undergoing RVP-induced cardiac arrest during aneurysm surgery, and patients undergoing hypothermic cardiac arrest during aneurysm surgery
Animal
Human Disease Modelled
Intervention
The use of adenosine, rapid ventricular pacing and hypothermia in cerebral aneurysms clipping.
Comparator Control
Main Outcome
30-day mortality
Outcome Measure
Additional Outcome
Hypothermia, postoperative mortality, myocardial infarction, neurological deficit, perioperative arrythmia, postoperative mRS 0-2, postoperative arrythmia, Glasgow coma scale.
Study Method
Intervention, Meta-analysis, Systematic review
