- The purpose of this meta-analysis of Randomized controlled trial is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ginkgo biloba extract in the treatment of vascular dementia
- Study Type Included
- Research type: Randomized controlled trial, with control group and research group. Languages include English and Chinese. Research subjects: Diagnosis meets the diagnostic criteria for vascular dementia. Intervention measures: The study group received Ginkgo biloba extract combined with Western medicine basic treatment, the control group received Western medicine basic treatment alone, or the study group received Ginkgo biloba extract combined with Western medicine basic treatment. The control group received placebo combined with Western medicine basic treatment, or the study group received Ginkgo biloba extract combined with Western medicine basic treatment. The control group received Western medicine combined with Western medicine basic treatment, and the basic intervention treatment was consistent between the two groups. - Vascular dementia (VD) refers to a syndrome of central nervous system damage related to blood vessels, often caused by various cerebrovascular diseases. Its clinical manifestations include decreased intelligence and social life abilities, accompanied by changes in personality and emotions [1], which greatly endangers the mental health and quality of life of the elderly and increases the personal care burden on families and society.
- Participant
- Research object: Diagnosis meets the diagnostic criteria for vascular dementia, excluding degenerative dementia, dementia caused by systemic diseases, infectious dementia, etc. Exclusion criteria(1) Unable to obtain complete full text information or extract effective outcome indicators from the literature (2) Repeated publication or data duplication with obvious errors (3) Research type not clearly explained (4) Intervention measures of the research group containing other traditional Chinese medicine treatments or special treatments such as acupuncture and hyperbaric oxygen (5) The drug is currently discontinued (6) The research subject has severe organ failure.
