- Main Outcome
- complete response (CR), partial response (PR), stable disease(SD), and progressive disease (PD), half year survival rate, 1-year survival rate, 2-year survival rate, 3-year survival rate, improvement rate of karnofsky performance scale (KPS) scores, maintaining rate of KPS scores, and various adverse events Measures of effect The clinical benefit rate (CBR) was defined as the percentage of CR, PR, and SD patients, and the clinical effective rate (CER) was defined as the percentage of CR and PR patients. Data of risk ratios (RR) were pooled using a random effects model to give a more conservative estimate of the effect of As2O3 therapy on the subsequent occurrence of CER and CBR, allowing for any heterogeneity. Heterogeneity between studies was assessed using both the I² statistic with a cut off of ≥50% and the χ² test with a p value <.10 used to define a significant degree of heterogeneity.
