- Studies were included based on our eligibility criteria: 1) studies should include adult participants (≥ 18 years old) who have been used a saffron for any reason, 2) studies should use any form of saffron, 3) studies should design parallel and/or crossover RCTs that measure the quality of life variables written in English, 4) studies should report the comparisons between an intervention and a control group, 5) articles were written in English. Studies were excluded as follows: 1) preclinical studie, 2) combination therapy with saffron, 3) no trials, animal studies, review articles, conference abstracts, and letters to editor articles, did not measure the quality of life variables.
