Review Question
Review question 1: What is the incidence of adverse events of Andrographis paniculata in patients with upper respiratory tract infections, non-infective diarrhea, or autoimmune disease? Review question 2: What is risk ratio for adverse events in Andrographis paniculata group compared to the placebo/standard treatment group?
Study Type Included
Randomized controlled trials, cohort studies, or intensive monitoring of adverse events (postmarketing study).
Condition Being Studied
- Diagnoses of upper respiratory tract infections include common cold, laryngitis, pharyngitis/tonsillitis, acute rhinitis, acute rhinosinusitis, acute otitis media, acute bronchitis, bronchiolitis, pneumonia and tracheitis. - Non-infective diarrhea - Autoimmune disease that results when the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s own tissues include systemic lupus erythematosus, rheumatoid arthritis, type 1 diabetes, multiple sclerosis, inflammatory bowel disease.
Participant
Inclusion criteria: Either children or adults with upper respiratory tract infections, non-infective diarrhea, or autoimmune disease

Intervention
Monotherapy of Andrographis paniculata in oral dosage forms, for instance, capsule or tablet. This review including all dose of Andrographis paniculata. Andrographis paniculata in Acanthaceae family is known as “King of bitters”, “Fa Talai Jone”, “Kariyat”, “Green chiretta”. Active compounds in Andrographis paniculata is andrographolide. Indications of Andrographis paniculata are as follows: symptomatic treatment of sore throat, common cold, and non-infective diarrhea. Moreover, Andrographolide has been reported to have a wide range of anti-inflammatory effect. 
Comparator Control
For the review question 1, comparator is not applicable. For the review question 2, comparator is placebo or standard treatment, for instance, paracetamol or mesalazine.
Main Outcome
Primary outcome is number of adverse event in Andrographis paniculata group. Number of adverse events that classified according to their severity as follows: • Serious adverse events: Adverse event that results in death, requires hospital admission or prolongation of existing hospital stay, results in persistent or significant disability/incapacity, or is life threatening • Non-serious adverse events: Adverse event that did not meet the criteria of serious adverse events. These events will be categorized by system organ class. Measures of effect Review question 1: Incidence. Review question 2: Risk ratio.
