Review Question
Meta-analysis of the clinical effect of external application of Chinese medicine rhubarb combined with mirabilite on severe acute pancreatitis.
Study Type Included
The literatures comparing outcomes between conventional treatment and rhubarb enema combined with external application of mirabilite in the treatment of severe acute pancreatitis were included. Study patients were diagnosed with severe acute pancreatitis. The exclusion criteria were as following: (1) non-human studies; (2) non-comparative studies; (3) The study subjects were not patients with severe acute pancreatitis; (4) studies without available data can be extracted; (5) non-original studies (letters, reviews, editorials).

The outcomes included the relief time of abdominal pain in SAP patients; Abdominal distension relief time; The time of first ventilation and defecation; The time of blood and urine amylase returning to normal; Average length of hospital stay; The number of patients who died.
