- Condition Being Studied
- Trauma is a recognizable cause of mortality, morbidity, and disability worldwide. Among different types of trauma, limb trauma is the most prevalent organ injury, following head injury. Studies have identified increasing trends of limb trauma both in developed and developing countries among different age groups. Limb trauma with nonpenetrating nature commonly causes moderate-to-severe acute or chronic pain. Pain after trauma is associated with substantially poorer recovery, psychological problems, and interferes with daily activities. Therefore, post-traumatic pain as a major source of concern for patients which affect treatment process; should effectively be managed upon arrival to emergency and paramedic settings.
