- Title
- Consumption of sorghum-based products and their impact in blood glucose and satiety in adult patients: a protocol for systematic review and/or meta-analysis
- Review Question
- How effective is using sorghum in food on blood glucose levels and satiety in adult patients?
- Study Type Included
- Only experimental studies: Randomized Controlled Trial or Non Randomized Controlled Trial
- Condition Being Studied
- Sorghum, a versatile grain, has gained attention for its potential impact on satiety, diabetes mellitus type 2, as well as obesity. Previous Studies have suggested that consuming sorghum-based products can promote feelings of fullness and reduce calorie intake, making it beneficial for weight management. Sorghum's low glycemic index and high fiber content also contribute to better glycemic control in individuals with diabetes mellitus type 2, preventing blood sugar spikes. Additionally, the presence of phytochemicals and bioactive compounds in sorghum may provide anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects, further supporting the management of chronic diseases. Incorporating sorghum into the diet and developing sorghum-based products offer potential benefits in terms of satiety, glycemic control, and overall health outcomes.
