- Review Question
- The purpose of this meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials is to evaluate the effectiveness of traditional Chinese medicine Paeoniae Radix Rubra and its extract in treating tumor model animals. Context and rationale Paeoniae Radix Rubra is a traditional Chinese medicine with a complex composition. Relevant studies have shown that Paeoniae Radix Rubra has a wide range of pharmacological effects and has important application value in liver protection, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumor, cardiovascular system protection, antiplatelet, anti angiogenesis, anti diabetes and other aspects. With the development of modern medical technology, multiple studies have confirmed that Paeoniae Radix Rubra and its active ingredients have good anti-tumor effects. In recent years, Paeoniae Radix Rubra and its formula have been used as adjuvant therapy in the treatment of cancer patients, but the effectiveness and potential anti-tumor value of red peony in treating tumors cannot be clearly determined. Moreover, no systematic evaluation has been found for the treatment of tumors with only Paeoniae Radix Rubra single drug and its extract.
