- Review Question
- To determine the efficacy and safety of Cynara scolymus on blood glucose, lipid level, blood pressure and anthropometric parameters outcomes.
- Study Type Included
- Inclusion criteria: randomized controlled trials (RCTs) that demonstrated the effectiveness of artichoke for any outcome, including lipid profile, blood glucose, blood pressure, and anthropological parameters. Exclusion criteria: pre-post study, and non-RCT observational or cross-sectional study.
- Condition Being Studied
- 1. Blood glucose outcomes including fasting plasma glucose (FPG), HbA1C and Homeostasis model assessment of insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) of participants who use Cynara scolymus products. 2. Lipid profiles outcomes including LDL, HDL, triglyceride (TG), total cholesterol (TC) of participants who use Cynara scolymus products. 3. Blood pressure including systolic blood pressure (SBP) and diastolic blood pressure (DBP) of participants who use Cynara scolymus products. 4. Anthropometric parameters including body weight and body mass index (BMI) 5. Adverse events of participants who use Cynara scolymus products.

- Inclusion criteria: all participants who use Cynara scolymus products including blood glucose, lipid profile, blood pressure and other conditions including body weight and body mass index reduction

- Inclusion criteria: the use of Cynara scolymus products in oral forms. Exclusion criteria: none.

- Inclusion criteria: any comparator or control product incorporates in control or non-intervention group. Exclusion criteria: none.

- Mean and standard deviations laboratory test of blood glucose, lipid profile, blood pressure and anthropometric parameters of participants after use Cynara scolymus products. Measures of effect Standardized mean difference (SMD) and 95% confident interval
