- Heart failure is a severe or terminal stage of various heart diseases, caused by abnormal changes in cardiac structure and/or function caused by various reasons, which leads to dysfunction of ventricular systolic and/or diastolic function, leading to a complex set of clinical syndromes. Heart failure can be divided into chronic and acute types according to its occurrence time and speed. Atrial fibrillation is characterized by ineffective atrial contraction, often accompanied by uncoordinated atrial electrical activity, and belongs to supraventricular tachyarrhythmias. Among known heart failure (HF), atrial fibrillation (AF) is the most common arrhythmia, and the incidence rate of AF increases with the NYHA classification (from 5% of NYHA I to 50% of NYHA IV). However, at present, Western medicine has not yet reached the best plan for the treatment of heart failure combined with atrial fibrillation (HF-AF). The treatment options can be roughly divided into three categories: heart rate control, drug rhythm control, and non drug rhythm control; The recommended drugs for AF HF in the guidelines are amiodarone and doxorubicin, but their use is limited due to the risk of adverse reactions. Compared to heart rate control, drug rhythm control does not improve hospitalization or mortality in HF.
