- Condition Being Studied
- Nonproliferative Diabetic Retinopathy: Disease of the retina as a complication of diabetes mellitus. It is characterized by progressive microvascular complications, such as aneurysm, interretinal edema, but in nonproliferative stage without pathologic neovascularization.
- Participant
- Patients diagnosed with nonproliferative diabetic retinopathy, of either gender and any age more than 18.

- Intervention
- Patients were treated with Qiming Granule as compared with other therapy or controls. All patients receive treatment of glycemic control including lifestyle modification and pharmacological therapy.
- Comparator Control
- Patients were exposed to other therapy or controls. All patients receive treatment of glycemic control including lifestyle modification and pharmacological therapy.
- Main Outcome
- Total effective rate. Measures of effect Efficacy was assessed based on fundal improvements measured with ophthalmoscopy and fundus fluorescein angiography to assess microaneurysms, hemorrhage and exudate areas, and improved vision using a visual chart.
