- We will undergo a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess whether Huoxiang Zhengqi Powder is effective and safe in the treatment of COVID-19 patients with gastrointestinal symptoms?
- Study Type Included
- Randomized clinical trials.
- Condition Being Studied
- Treatment of COVID-19 patients with gastrointestinal symptoms.
- Participant
- Suspected cases with one of the following etiological or serological evidences: (1) Real-time fluorescent RT-PCR detection of novel coronavirus nucleic acid positive; (2) Virus gene sequencing, highly homologous to known novel coronaviruses; (3) ) Novel coronavirus-specific IgM antibody and IgG antibody were positive; (4) Novel coronavirus-specific IgG antibody changed from negative to positive or the IgG antibody titer in the recovery phase was 4 times or more higher than that in the acute phase. Gastrointestinal symptoms (anorexia, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, melena).

- Huoxiang Zhengqi Powder + conventional Western medicine therapy.
- Comparator Control
- Only conventional Western medicine therapy (or + placebo) or only with Huoxiang Zhengqi Powder.
- Main Outcome
- Changes in the expression of WBC, C-reactive protein (CRP) and interleukin 6 (IL-6) before and after treatment, the improvement rate of chest CT, the time to negative nucleic acid, the number of days in hospital, the total clinical effective rate, the disappearance rate of clinical symptoms, the score of TCM syndrome , improvement in gastrointestinal symptoms (anorexia, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, melena) and adverse reactions, etc.
