- Title
- Angong Niuhuang Pill for acute ischaemic stroke:A meta Analysis and GRADE Assessment
- Review Question
- How dose the efficacy and safety of Angong Niuhuang Pill for acute ischaemic stroke compared with other therapies?
- Study Type Included
- Randomized control trials.
- Condition Being Studied
- Acute ischaemic stroke(AIS) is a common clinical and multiple ischemic cerebrovascular disease, which treatment methods of modern medicine are mainly including early thrombolytic therapy, nerve cell protection therapy, interventional therapy, surgical therapy and so on. Eventhough recent therapeutic efficacy of theses methods is significant, their clinical application is limited due to the unavoided side effects and strict treatment access conditions. Chinese medicine has an indispensable advantage in treatment of AIS for the concept of wholism of diagnosis and syndrome differentiation. Chinese herbal formulation has multi -targets, multi -link, multi-way and network overall adjustment advantage.
- Participant
- Inclusion: (1) patients with acute cerebral ischaemic(as diagnosed using any recognised diagnostic criteria), or diagnosed as acute Ischemic cerebral infarction by computerized tomography (CT) or magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or other recognized diagnostic criteria; (2) examined the use of Angong Niuhuang Pill either alone or in combination with other therapies (There was no limitation on the dosages or dosage form (oral medicine or injection) or treatment courses.); (3) was a randomized controlled study. Exclusion: (1) repeatedly published studies, case reports , reviews or animal experiment; (2) any differences in the intervention except for Angong Niuhuang Pill treatment between two groups; (3) Studies lack of outcomes or full text;(4)Data recordings absence or plagiarized.
- Animal
- Human Disease Modelled
- Intervention
- Angong Niuhuang Pill or Angong Niuhuang Pill + Western conventional medicine (such as decreasing intracranial pressure, regulating blood pressure, keeping water electrolyte balance, preventing the occurrence of stress ulcers, antiinfection, and other symptomatic treatment).
- Comparator Control
- Western conventional medicine.
- Main Outcome
- Clinical total effective rate at the end of the treatment course. Measures of effect Clinical total effective rate at the end of the treatment course will be presented as odds ratio (OR)
- Outcome Measure
- Additional Outcome
- Neurological deficit scale((National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Score-NIHSS score or European Stroke Scale); Barthel Index; The level of plasma fibrinogen(FIB); Adiponectin level; Atherosclerotic plaque area; other safety outcomes. Measures of effect Neurological deficit scale((National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale Score-NIHSS score or European Stroke Scale)/Barthel Index/The level of plasma fibrinogen(FIB)/Adiponectin level/Atherosclerotic plaque area will be presented as mean difference (MD) with 95% confidence intervals (95% CI).
