Review Question
The purpose of this review is to evaluate the efficacy and safety of angong niuhuang pill as an adjuvant therapy in patients with traumatic craniocerebral injury.
Study Type Included
This study will only consider randomized controlled trials (RCTs). Any other studies will be not considered, such as non-clinical studies, non-controlled trials, crossover studies, non-RCTs, and quasi-RCTs.
Condition Being Studied
Traumatic craniocerebral injury is one of the leading causes of death and disability in both developing and developed countries.Angong Niuhuang Pill (ANP), a well-known traditional Chinese patent medicine, has been widely used in China. It contains Buffalo Horn, Calculus Bovis, Radix Curcumae, Radix Scutellariae, Rhizoma Coptidis, Realgar,Fructus Gardeniae, Cinnabaris, Borneolum Syntheticum, Musk, and Margarita. ANP has been used to manage patients with various acute cerebrovascular diseases, such as traumatic craniocerebral injury, encephalitis, meningitis, cerebral infarction, intracerebral hemorrhage.
Participant
Adult participants (≥18 years), with a confirmed diagnosis of Traumatic craniocerebral injury.

Main Outcome
Glasgow Outcome Scale; Glasgow Coma Scale; Pulmonary infection; Mg 2+ concentration. Measures of effect A good prognosis should be based on the GOS prognosis score greater than or equal to 4. Other outcomes have been related to imaging and testing as the standard.
Outcome Measure
Additional Outcome
Gastrointestinal bleeding; Liver function; Renal function; neuron-specific enolase. Measures of effect outcomes according to the clinical symptoms, related imaging and examination as the standard.
