What is the strength of the association between khat use and psychiatric symptoms?
Study Type Included
Inclusion criteria: observational studies (cross-sectional studies, cohort studies, case-control studies). Exclusion criteria: case series/report, qualitative studies, randomised controlled trials.
Condition Being Studied
Psychiatric symptoms including depression, anxiety, mania and psychosis.
Participant
Adults only, no other exclusion criteria
Animal
Human Disease Modelled
Intervention
Khat use. No exclusion criteria.
Comparator Control
No khat use (or non-dependent khat use if compared with dependent khat use validated by measurement tool e.g. SDS).
