- Title
- Potato consumption and risk of site-specific cancer in adults: a systematic review and dose-response meta-analysis of observational studies
- Review Question
- What is the relation between potatoes and site-specific cancer compared to those who did not consume potatoes.
- Study Type Included
- Case-control, cohort studies. Inclusion criteria: Studies were included in the current meta-analysis if they: (1) had full texts written in English language (2) were observational(cohort, case-control) studies (3) were conducted in adults (age ≥18 y) (4) considered potatoes including boiled, baked, mashed potatoes and potato salad and fried potatoes (potato chips, French fries,..) or potatoes (not specified) as the exposure (5) examined the association for cancer (6) reported hazard ratios (HRs), relative risks (RRs) or odds ratios (ORs) with corresponding 95% CIs for the association of potato consumption with cancer.
- Condition Being Studied
- Site-specific cancer. Consumption of potatoes.
