Title
Effects of uric acid lowering therapy on renal function and cardiorenal outcome in patients with chronic kidney disease complicated with asymptomatic hyperuricemia:a systematic review and meta-analysis
Review Question
To evaluate the effects of uric acid lowering therapy on renal function and cardiorenal outcome in patients with chronic kidney disease complicated with asymptomatic hyperuricemia . P: patients with chronic kidney disease complicated with asymptomatic hyperuricemia I: uric acid lowering therapy, such as allopurinol and febuxostat C: placebo or blank control or routine treatment O: changes of eGFR or Scr and outcome of cardiovascular events, end-stage renal disease (ESRD), acute renal function decline or doubling of serum creatinine S: randomised controlled trial(RCT)
Study Type Included
We will include randomised trials to assess the effects of uric acid lowering therapy on renal function and cardiorenal outcome in patients with chronic kidney disease complicated with asymptomatic hyperuricemia
Condition Being Studied
uric acid lowering therapy.renal function.cardiorenal outcome. asymptomatic hyperuricemia.chronic kidney disease.allopurinol.febuxostat.
Participant
Inclusion criteria: (1) Research object: adults patients with chronic kidney disease complicated with asymptomatic hyperuricemia . Chronic kidney disease is defined according to KDOQI guidelines or by the author; (2) Intervention measures: only the experimental group was given uric acid lowering treatment, while the control group was given placebo or blank control or general non-uric acid lowering treatment; (3) Research type: randomized controlled trial; (4) Measurement indicators: the study reported the change of glomerular filtration rate or serum creatinine or urine protein, the incidence of renal function deterioration or terminal renal disease or death or cardiorenal outcome. Exclusion criteria: (1) patients with acute renal damage, renal cell carcinoma, end-stage renal disease such as dialysis or renal transplantation; (2) hyperuricemia caused by tumor, malignant hematological disease or rhabdomyolysis syndrome; (3) gouty arthritis or uric acid calculi.
Animal
Human Disease Modelled
Intervention
Interventions: There are three types of uric acid-lowering drug treatment options: a. Drugs that inhibit uric acid production, such as allopurinol, febuxostat; b. Drugs that promote uric acid excretion, such as benzbromarone;c. Novel uric acid-lowering drugs, such as rasburicase , Purikexi. These drugs have been recognized to reduce the concentration of uric acid in the blood and reduce the deposition of uric acid in the bones, joints or kidneys.
Comparator Control
the control group was given placebo or blank control .
Main Outcome
changes of eGFR or Scr from baseline to the last available follow-up, outcome of cardiovascular events, end-stage renal disease (ESRD), acute renal function decline or doubling of serum creatinine Measures of effect mean difference, relative risks
