Review Question
Is peanut or peanut butter consumption associated with a lower risk of non-communicable diseases and mortality?
Study Type Included
This systematic review will include two meta-analysis: 1. A meta-analysis considering controlled clinical trials 2. A meta-analysis considering prospective studies (cohort and case-control studies). Additionally, cross-sectional studies will be included in the sensitivity analysis
Condition Being Studied
1. Incidence of non-communicable diseases, including cardiovascular diseases and cardiometabolic risk (as metabolic syndrome, type 2 diabetes, obesity, dyslipidemia), as well as cancer. 2. All-cause and cause-specific mortality.
