- Title
- The Effects of Oral Administration of Deer Antler Extracts on an Osteoporosis-induced Animal Model : A Systematic Review and Meta-analysis
- Review Question
- To assess the effects of oral administration of deer antler extracts on an osteoporosis-induced animal model Context and rationale I think that systematic literature review of animal research studies is of great significance for the purpose of preparing an important basis for clinical research. Although the results of animal experiments cannot be directly applied to clinical practice, they are expected to be used as basic data for clinical research. Based on these basic research data, I think that it can prevent and diagnose osteoporosis in advance and contribute to the development of medicine. It is expected that deer antler extract can suppress osteoporosis in actual clinical practice.
- Study Type Included
- Inclusion criteria: Experimental studies with a separate control group Exclusion criteria: case studies, experimental studies without a separate control group, cross-over studies
- Condition Being Studied
- Participant
- Animal
- Inclusion criteria: In order to evaluate the effect of a single extract of deer antler in an osteoporosis-induced animal model, only experimental studies will be conducted by setting up an experimental group and a control group. There are no restrictions on the type, age, sex, and method of inducing osteoporosis of the animal. Exclusion criteria: Animal model in which osteoporosis is not induced, in vitro models
- Human Disease Modelled
- Osteoporosis means that bones weakened due to a decrease in bone mass have progressed to a state prone to fracture even with light impact.
- Intervention
- Inclusion criteria: It includes an animal group using a method of administering a single extract of deer antler into the gastrointestinal tract through oral administration, and there are no restrictions on the duration, frequency, and dose of the extract. Exclusion criteria: When a combination herbal prescription is used, or when it is not administered orally, such as acupuncture, fumigation, or subcutaneous injection, or when only cell tests are performed
- Comparator Control
- Inclusion criteria: Osteoporosis is induced by various methods such as ovarian resection or sciatic nerve amputation, but the group is not subjected to any intervention. Exclusion criteria: Osteoporosis is induced by various methods such as ovarian resection or sciatic nerve amputation, but other treatments are involved.
- Main Outcome
- Outcome Measure
- Inclusion criteria: Bone Mineral Density(BMD), Histomorphometric indicators of the bone, Serum alkaline phosphatase and osteocalcin Exclusion criteria: Serum indicators excluding ALP and osteocalcin
