- Is aloe vera effective in management of acute wounds?
- Study Type Included
- We will include randomised trials to assess the beneficial effects of the treatments, and will supplement these with observational studies (including cohort and case–control studies) for the assessment of harms.
- Condition Being Studied
- Acute wound, for example lacerations, surgical incisions and burns.
- Participant
- Inclusion criteria: patient with acute wounds (as diagnosed using any recognised diagnostic criteria). Exclusion: patient with non-acute wounds.

- Intervention
- Topical use of aloe vera on the acute wound, The reported frequency of intervention were respectively twice a day, three time daily, once every 8-12 hours, once every three days and the other studies didn’t report frequency of intervention, and the follow- up period ranging from 10 days to 8 weeks.

- Placebo.
- Main Outcome
- The primary outcomes included: 1) time for complete healing; 2) wound healing rate.
