Title
The efficacy and safety of ligustrazine in stroke.
Review Question
Appraise the available evidence on the potential benefits and harms of Ligustrazine use in stroke
Study Type Included
Randomized controlled trials.
Condition Being Studied
Stroke is a common disorder. It is due either to blockage of an artery in the brain or to bleeding in the brain. To improve the cerebral circulation, ligustrazine can protect the brain injury caused by cerebral ischemia-reperfusion. It also can reduce the injury of neurons and microvascular endothelial cells. This Meta-anlysis is to assess the efficacy and safety of ligustrazine in stroke.
Participant
Participants could be of any age, sex or ethnic origin, and patients have to be diagnosed according to recognized criteria of stroke.
Animal
Human Disease Modelled
Intervention
Interventions using ligustrazine as a main treatment. The combination therapy of Ligustrazine and other interventions compared with the same other interventions alone was also included.
Comparator Control
No-treatment, placebo, nonpharmaceutical therapy or regular treatment and nursing.
Main Outcome
Course of disease outcome(Effective rate) and adverse events. Measures of effect relative risks, odds ratios, risk difference
Outcome Measure
Additional Outcome
Hemorheology indexes (whole blood viscosity, plasma viscosity, hematocrit, fibrinogen) Measures of effect relative risks, odds ratios, risk difference
Study Method
Meta-analysis, Systematic review
