- Title
- Efficacy of Tanshinone IIA for Myocardial Ischemia/Reperfusion Injury in Rats: A Meta-Analysis and Systematic Review
- Review Question
- Does Tanshinone IIA intervention in rats model of myocardial reperfusion injury reduce the area of myocardial ischemia, decrease serum methane dicarboxylic aldehyde (MDA) and lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) levels, and increase serum superoxide dismutase (SOD) levels compared with no intervention or normal saline intervention in rats model of myocardial reperfusion injury? Context and rationale The occurrence of myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury was that after the myocardium was in a state of ischemia for a long time, with the reconstruction of blood perfusion, the function and structure of the heart do not recover, but more serious damage occured. Myocardial ischemic disease was one of the diseases with the highest mortality in the world, and its incidence had been increasing gradually in recent years. Tanshinone IIA was a fat-soluble diterpene quinone extracted from the traditional Chinese medicine Salvia miltiorrhiza. At present, there are many reports about the protective effect and mechanism of tanshinone IIA on myocardial cells in rats with myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury at home and abroad. Therefore, in order to further clarify the role of tanshinone IIA preconditioning in resisting myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury.
- Study Type Included
- Inclusion criteria: Controlled experiment. Exclusion criteria: The study of clinical case reports, review, duplicated, and not related articles were excluded.
- Condition Being Studied
- Participant
- Animal
- Inclusion criteria: (1)animal species were rats, (2) all sexes, (3)myocardial reperfusion injury model in rats, specifically modeled by ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery and reperfusion Exclusion criteria: (1)animal species were not rats, (2)construction of a myocardial ischemia-reperfusion model in rats, not by ligation of the left anterior descending coronary artery and reperfusion
- Human Disease Modelled
- Myocardial ischemia-reperfusion injury(often occurs during thrombolysis, percutaneous coronary interventions and cardiac surgical procedures)
- Intervention
- Inclusion criteria: Tanshinone IIA as the intervention. Exclusion criteria: (1)Not Tanshinone IIA as a treatment modality,(2)Tanshinone IIA combined with other intervention treatments.
- Comparator Control
- Inclusion criteria: Intervention of Tanshinone IIA was compared with placebo control in Myocardial ischemia/reperfusion injury rats. The dose and the administration method of Tanshinone IIA, duration of treatment, and follow-up time were unrestricted. Exclusion criteria: No control group.
- Main Outcome
- Outcome Measure
- Inclusion criteria: Myocardial infarction area, Superoxide dismutase (SOD), Methane dicarboxylic aldehyde (MDA), lactic dehydrogenase (LDH). Exclusion criteria: None of myocardial infarct size, superoxide dismutase (SOD), formaldehyde (MDA) or lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) was assessed.
