- We will evaluate the efficacy of tanshinone IIA therapy for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy compared to (i) the conventional treatment strategies and (ii) combined therapy.

- Only randomized clinical trials will be included.

- The outcomes that we will evaluated are (i) glycemic control, (ii) changes in 24-hour proteinuria, and (iii) Scr with diabetic nephropathy .

- The inclusion criteria will be randomised clinical trials evaluating tanshinone IIA as compared to conventional treatment strategies for at least 8 weeks in individuals with diabetic nephropathy.

- The interventions will be the tanshinone IIA as compared to conventional treatment strategies for diabetic nephropathy. The outcomes will be (i) glycemic control, (ii) changes in 24-hour proteinuria and (iii) scr.
