- Study Type Included
- We will include randomised trials to assess the beneficial effects of strontium ranelate for treatment and management of osteoarthritis. We will also incluse pre-clinical studies, with experimental models of osteoarthritis, receiving strontium ranelate.

- Osteoarthritis: treatment and disease-modifying therapies.

- -For clinical studies: patients with osteoarthritis, receiving strontium ranelate. -For experimental studies: experimental osteorthritis models with strontium ranelate as a treatment protocol.

- Strontium Ranelate (SrRan) is a medicine usually prescribed to treat osteoporosis, which has been claimed as a compound with evidenced effects on the decrement of the risk of fractures and with some slight suggestions to reduce progression of osteoarthritis (OA). This study aim to make a systematic review of current evidence available for its use in osteoarthritis. For that, we will consider clinical and experimental studies performed using strontium ranelate for this purpose, excluding its use for other osteomuscular diseases.

- Placebo.

- Change in progression of osteoarthritis, with pain relief and improvement in joint mobility.

- Extra-data may include histopathological, radiological and immunological evaluation, when available.
