- Title
- The impact of serum sodium level on post-liver transplant survival
- Review Question
- The impact of pre-transplant hyponatremia on liver transplant recipients less than one year survival? The impact of pre-transplant hyponatremia on liver transplant recipients one to five year survival? The impact of pre-transplant hyponatremia on liver transplant recipients more than five year survival? The impact of pre-transplant hyponatremia on liver transplant recipients survival with DDLT vs LDLT? The impact of pre-transplant hyponatremia on liver transplant recipients graft survival vs patient survival?
- Study Type Included
- All Original Cohort Studies.
- Condition Being Studied
- Hyponatremia is a common complication among patients with cirrhosis. Multiple studies have reported heterogenous results on the effect of hyponatremia on recipients post- liver transplant survival. A systematic review on previous studies may clear any possible association between serum sodium level and survival.
- Participant
- All adult patients underwent liver transplantation (both living donor or deceased donor).
- Animal
- Human Disease Modelled
- Intervention
- Serum sodium level before transplantation Graft survival after less than one year, one to 5 years and more than five years
- Comparator Control
- patients with pre-transplant hyponatremia (mostly known with serum Na<135) and patients without hyponatremia will be compared in case of post-transplant survival.
- Main Outcome
- Post transplant survival: 1) less than one year, 2) between one to five years and 3) more than five years.
- Outcome Measure
- Additional Outcome
- 1) Post-transplant complications 2) Post-transplant ICU stay
- Study Method
- Meta-analysis, Prognostic, Systematic review
