- Dietary salt intake and health outcomes: an umbrella review and evidence map
- Review Question
- 1.High dietary salt intake is considered to be a risk factor for many diseases including hypertension and gastric cancer. 2.Salt reduction is recommended by many health experts. 3.However, how to reduce salt intake practically is still a challenge while the overall health efficacy of this practice has not been assessed carefully. 4.Therefore, we aim to systematically assess the efficacy of salt reduction in different health aspects and present a evidence map to help public reduce habitual salt intake properly.
- Study Type Included
- Systematic reviews and meta-analyses of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and observational studies (cohort and case-control studies) assessing efficacy of salt intake reduction for multiple health outcomes were included.
- Condition Being Studied
- Meta-analyses will be included if they focus on efficacy of dietary salt reduction on any health outcome.

- Health adults and patients of any disease with the risk factor of high salt intake.
