- All randomized controlled trials Evaluating the Acid-Inhibitory Effect of a Newly Developed Potassium-Competitive Acid Blocker were eligible for inclusion.
- Condition Being Studied
- Acid inhibitory effects of proton pump inhibitors (PPIs) are influenced by CYP2C19 genotype. Recent studies have shown that proton pump inhibitors cause nocturnal acid breakthrough (NAB). In contrast, the potent acid inhibition of Vonoprazan is not influenced by CYP2C19 genotype. No previous meta-analysis has focused on the effectiveness of gastric acid inhibition with PCABs versus PPIs, especially at night, and a comprehensive search in the database has not been performed. We will update the RCT study result and compare the efficacy between PCABs and PPIs.
