- Title
- Association of diethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) exposure with serum thyroid hormone levels: a systematic review and meta-analysis
- Review Question
- The aim was to use systematic review and meta-analysis to determine the association of diethylhexyl phthalate exposure with thyroid function
- Study Type Included
- Cohort study, case-controlled study or cross‑sectional study.
- Condition Being Studied
- As one of the environmental endocrine disruptors, phthalates have been proved to have anti-estrogen, anti-androgen, anti-progesterone and anti-thyroid function, which have negative effects on human health. At present, there have been several population epidemiological studies on the effects of PAEs exposure with thyroid function. However, the types of related metabolites in each study are different, the outcome indicators are not consistent, and the conclusions are controversial. Therefore, we conducted a meta-analysis to clarify the relationship between diethylhexyl phthalate exposure and thyroid function, and to provide scientific basis for exploring the etiology of thyroid diseases.
