Review Question
Comparison of Norepinephrine versus Phenylephrine for post-spinal hypotension in parturients undergoing caesarean section and neonatal outcomes: a systematic review and meta-analysis
Study Type Included
Randomized controlled study
Condition Being Studied
Phenylephrine has always been the standard treatment drug for hypotension after subarachnoid anesthesia in cesarean section parturients, but it can cause reflex reduction of heart rate and cardiac output. And norepinephrine has weak β Receptor activation can avoid these adverse effects while raising blood pressure, and increase the blood supply of the placenta. It is increasingly used in the treatment of hypotension in cesarean section women, but there is still a lack of relevant data to prove its impact on neonatal outcomes. This review combined with the recent years' randomized controlled study on norepinephrine and norepinephrine used for hypotension in cesarean section women to explore the impact on neonatal outcomes.
