- Children (18 Years or less) with asthma requiring treatment with theophyllines (either oral or IV) for either acute or chronic asthma

- Intervention: A dose of theophylline (either oral theophylline or IV aminophylline)which achieves a certain therapeutic range which results in a improvement of symptoms

- A dose of theophylline (either oral theophylline or IV aminophylline) which achieves a therapeutic range which fails to result in an improvement of symptoms
