- Study Type Included
- Only randomized controlled studies are included for analysis. Letter, case series, review, before-after studies are excluded.
- Condition Being Studied
- Post-dural puncture headache may occur following regional anesthesia. Epidural blood patch remains the standardized treatment. Some studies had reported that the use of aminophylline may prevent or treat the post-dural puncture headache. However, the efficacy of aminophylline remains to be clarified.
- Participant
- Adult patients who are scheduled to receive regional anesthesia or adult patients who are diagnosed with post-dural puncture headache Inclusion criteria: adult patients aged more than 18 years, no allery to aminophylline, no other neurological disease Exclusion criteria: pediatric population, headache not associated with dural puncture, no history of regional anesthesia

- Aminophylline is given as intervention. Different dosages of aminophylline are included. Only randomized controlled trials are included.

- Placebo or other analgesia drugs are used as comparators.
- Main Outcome
- The risk of post-dural puncture headahce is the primary outcome. Measures of effect Relative risk is used to estimate the effect.

- Severity of pain or pain relief is used as the secondary outcome. Measures of effect Relative risks or risk difference is used to measure the effect.
