Is aminophylline or theophylline in adjunct with furosemide associated with higher urine output as compared to furosemide alone? Is aminophylline or theophylline in adjunct with furosemide associated with negative fluid balance as compared to furosemide alone?
Study Type Included
Inclusion: Randomised controlled trials, observational studies. Exclusion: Case reports, case series, reviews (non-systematic), non-human study, letters, conference, abstracts.
Condition Being Studied
The use of aminophylline or theophylline in adjunct with furosemide in paediatric patients.
Participant
Inclusion: 1. Age range: less than 18 years old; 2. Patients with any medical conditions; 3. Studies that use methylxanthine (aminophylline or theophylline). Exclusion: 1. Adult participants (age more than 18 years old); 2. Allergic to methylxanthine (aminophylline/theophylline); 3. Receiving dialysis during study period; 4. Aminophylline used as prophylaxis for contrast induced nephropathy.
